The Circular Fashion Workshop is a learning and network-building event with presentations, discussion and facilitated group exercises covering the Cradle to Cradle Certified™ approach to circular fashion with emphasis on circular materials and principles of regenerative design.
The workshop provides an introduction to circular fashion and anyone interested in the topic is encouraged to join – students, designers, sustainability managers or brand representatives large and small.
The workshop will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark and is timed to coincide with the Copenhagen Fashion Summit. Exact venue for the workshop will be confirmed soon and shared.

SHIFTING LINEAR TO CIRCULAR FASHION 9:30 – 10:15
The Circular Economy is a viable strategy for meeting 21st century challenges like climate change and resource depletion while eliminating the concept of waste and providing for abundance. The president of the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, Lewis Perkins, will present key concepts of the Cradle to Cradle framework and share examples of our work applying this framework within the fashion industry.

CASCADES OF CIRCULAR FASHION 10:30 – 11:45
This module introduces a full spectrum of innovators and initiatives connecting the dots in circular fashion from verifying and cataloguing circular materials, to collecting and renewing or recycling garments. Including a special technology launch of a Fashion Positive platform for accelerating change towards circular fashion.

CIRCULAR FASHION MATERIALS 13:15 – 14:45
Through presentations and group work, participants will learn about circular materials for fashion and practice thinking through material circularity. We will define the characteristics of a circular material using the Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Products Standard and introduce the Fashion Positive Materials Collection.

REGENERATIVE DESIGN PRINCIPLES 15:00 – 16:30
Circular fashion will redefine the role of a designer. In this module, we will explore design strategies to help designers respond to sustainability challenges in fashion and to future-proof their work against impending sustainability challenges. We will define upcycling, give examples of design for upcycling and discuss the designer’s role in growing circular fashion.
